In view of a recent controversy where a young, former child
actress was arrested in a prostitution racket, I have noticed something very
shocking. There are thousands who have opposed to the news article stating only
her details while masking those of her clients. No, that is not the shocking
part – it is the fact that they too have been sharing her name, photo and other
details in their post. When we expect media to be sensitive about the identity
of the girl in an alleged case, why are we ourselves denying her that privacy
through our “shares” and “likes” on social media sites? If you have no idea
what that incident was, I request you not to search to enlighten yourself. This
is something you can live without. I am not here to argue about whether what
she did was right or wrong. I am not here to support or condemn her actions.
All I am asking is we do what we want the media to do - Respect the privacy of
the girl when they are so respective of the privacy of those wealthy
businessmen.

With social media being rampant, with everyone having access to cameras on their phone to instantly capture a video, no one can escape being a "Truman". Any instance of your life can be captured by someone and you could end up being ridiculed or hailed a superstar overnight. The superstardom can fall overnight too, but the ridicule remains long after it subsides too. We also live a li...
