The two women I am going to talk about are extremely special to me. They are the first ones who made me feel a strong maternal instinct. I am extremely protective of them and they are both growing up to be the most amazing women you'll ever know. My 2 nieces - Sachu and Adu are 18 and 17 respectively. They are growing up into these amazing women who will inspire a whole generation of young girls.
I recently had a rant about not being heard in meetings because I am a woman. My older niece sends me a Taylor Swift song, "The Man" to show how relatable this experience is. My younger niece talks about how the boys are still getting preference to take up leadership positions in schools because "Girls will get a chance, what about the poor boys!". And when I hear her say that there is no use speaking up, it breaks my heart into a thousand pieces. They are an entire generation younger and still have to go through the same experiences.
These two girls are talented and smart. I am extremely proud of who they have become and cannot wait to see what they achieve. More than anything else, they are kind and understanding.
Why should we fight and voice our opinion now? So that these young girls do not have to rant like me when they start working. They deserve equal opportunities. They are destined for greatness and that should not be stopped by the fake perception that boys will not get opportunities because now is the age of feminism!
While I know Sachu and Adu are going to face all hurdles head-on and will come out of this stronger, I will do everything I can to help them and many other girls to handle this world.
How can working women help?
- Speak up in a meeting when you know someone is not listening to ideas from a woman
- If someone cuts you while you speak, politely ask them to first let you finish
- Document your ideas - e-mails are best
- Own up your suggestions and do not let anyone else speak for you
- Support other women and amplify their voice
- Do not stop working hard, do not give up
I will keep adding to this list as I evolve and learn from my experience. This is a note to self. :)
Until next time, Happy Reading!

I'm Hrith and I happened to see your blog. I absolutely love them and I am flattered by your blog, for a newbie. I am pretty famous for my blogs too. If you want more people to follow you other than your loved ones I would recommend you to write about the "real issues" as it will develop tension in people's mind and make them wait for your work.
